Developing and maintaining good health is one of the 4 pillars of happiness.
 
The foundation of health is providing our bodies with the right fuel to function
and minimising its exposure to toxins.

However, while being conscious of what we eat is important, it is equally important
to relax and enjoy our food.  When we get overly focused on what we are eating it causes stress.  Stress inhibits our digestion and nutrient absorption, it can
promote fat storage, it causes damaging inflammation in our body, and it makes
us low emotionally.  When you get stressed about what you're eating, it can cause more damage than eating a poor diet.
 
Here are the Vanilla Soul Keys to Eating for Happiness
  • Eat foods as close to their natural state as possible
  • If you couldn't theoretically make the food at home, avoid it
  • Eat a wide variety of foods in moderation
  • Eat food that you like the taste of
  • Minimise consumption of sugars and starches (including grains, fruit and
    fruit juice)
  • Make mealtimes an enjoyable event - sit, relax, take your time
Aim to eat a high natural, high nutrition diet 80-90% of the time and don't sweat the rest.  If you get invited out for dinner at someone's house and they serve fish and chips, just enjoy the food and the company, and let it go.  If your foundation is good, the odd variation or treat is not really going to do any lasting damage.  Stressing about it will.
 
Remember positive thoughts have as much of an impact on developing
good health as positive food.  Think happy!
