Physical Comfort
Surround yourself with beauty and things that bring joy to your heart

Physical comfort is the fourth pillar of happiness.  We don't need physical comfort
to feel happy, but it is easier to let happiness arise within us when we are warm,
dry and have a place of shelter.

Physical comfort is not just about having lots of stuff.  There is nothing wrong with 'stuff'.  Abundance is natural; just look at the number of seeds a plant produces,
or the amount of apples that grow on a tree, the number of species
of birds there are or the multitude of stars in the sky.

However, chasing after 'stuff' in its own right for reasons of image or power or
worry about lack will lead to discontent.  When things flow into our lives that
add value to it, then they support our choice to be happy.

When we understand and accept our own personal needs and desires, and are comfortable with who we are then we choose to include in our environment only selected things which fill our needs or give us pleasure.  When we are content in ourselves then our attachment to physical things fades and the things we buy and
own are just an expression of who we are.  We don't need things in our life to
give us status.

Self-love is foundational to happiness.
